East Texas deputies removed a 9.5-foot alligator blocking traffic, says the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, handing it over to Texas game wardens for relocation.

JASPER COUNTY, Texas — A few East Texas deputies worked together to remove a large and scaly traffic hazard on Wednesday.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputies Bradley Morgan, Vern Kaylor and Clayton Daigle wrangled a 9.5-foot alligator on FM 1013 West that was blocking traffic about a mile from the Neches River.

The sheriff’s office says after catching the reptile, the gator was handed over to the Texas game wardens and safely relocated.
