DALLAS, Texas — A federal judge in Dallas has set the trial date for rapper Pooh Shiesty, real name Lontrell Williams Jr., for July 6 of this year.
In a court filing posted Tuesday, May 19, the jury trial for Williams Jr., his father Lontrell Williams Sr., Rodney Wright Jr. (a.k.a Big30), and six others will take place together at the Earle Cabell Federal Building in Dallas.
The suspects are accused of holding rapper Gucci Mane at gunpoint and “executed an armed takeover,” according to the DOJ complaint. The DOJ said Williams Jr. pulled out an AK-style pistol and “forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint,” according to previous WFAA reporting.
Williams Jr. has been in custody in the Kaufman County Jail since April, when a federal judge claimed he was a flight risk.
