According to the Mansfield Police Department, the 43-year-old woman stabbed the victim multiple times amid an argument involving the two and another person.
TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A 43-year-old Tarrant County woman has been charged with murder after she reportedly stabbed another woman to death Saturday night, Mansfield police say.
According to the Mansfield Police Department, officers were called at about 10:51 p.m. to a home in the 200 block of Morgan Road, where they found three people in the backyard.
One of the people, a 50-year-old woman, was found in the backyard with multiple stab wounds, police said. The suspect, Jarishia Jackson, was found with injuries as well, and a 43-year-old man was also present with no apparent injuries.
After separated the three, officers immediately tried to save the victim’s life while calling for emergency medical assistance, police said. Paramedics with the Mansfield Fire Department arrived and continued trying to save the victim’s life. She and Jackson were taken to Methodist Mansfield Hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m.
After detectives interviewed all involved parties and collected evidence, they found that Jackson and the victim and the man had been having an argument when Jackson reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife, officials said. As a result, police arrested Jackson and charged her with murder. She was taken to the Mansfield Police Department Jail after she was released from the hospital.
The victim has not been identified yet. Her identity will be released after she has been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner and her family has been notified, police said.
The investigation is still ongoing.
