Rising country singer Tayler Holder, who built his following on TikTok before crossing over to Nashville, canceled all upcoming tour dates.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Rising country music star Tayler Holder is stepping away from the stage to focus on his mental health after months of private struggle that he could no longer push through.
On Monday, the 28-year-old singer announced he was canceling all of his upcoming shows, scrapping dates in May, June and November.
“Over the past several months, I’ve been in a constant struggle with my mental health in ways that I can no longer ignore,” Holder wrote in a post on Instagram. “I’ve tried for a while now to put my head down and just push through this and give everything I have to the music and the people who support me, but truthfully I’ve reached my limit right now and I need to take a step back and focus on getting healthy.”
Holder first rose to prominence on TikTok, amassing millions of followers before pivoting to a serious country music career in Nashville, Tennessee. In April, he made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry — one of country music’s most storied stages.
His tour, named after his recent single “When No One’s Around,” was building momentum when he pulled the plug. The song’s lyrics describe drowning in isolation and losing a fight with oneself. Holder acknowledged in his post that he felt “so lonely” and “unfulfilled” even as his career was on the rise.
“Performing for you guys is the greatest privilege of my life,” Holder wrote. “I know many of you made plans, spent money, and were looking forward to these nights together. And I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment this causes.”
The announcement drew an immediate outpouring of support from fans and fellow musicians. Christian artist Brandon Lake responded publicly with encouragement and shared a personal coping framework he uses during his own mental health battles.
“Love you dude and believing for a quick shift,” Lake wrote.
Country artist Graham Barham simply wrote, “Take care of YOU brother man.”
Holder said he plans to spend his time away from the road resting, seeking professional support and reconnecting with himself outside the pressure of touring. He did not offer a timeline for his return or specify whether his scheduled appearance at CMA Fest would also be canceled.
Holder ended his statement with gratitude. “It means more than you’ll ever know,” he wrote of his fans’ continued support.
