Texas DPS says the incident happened near Midway Road Thursday night; the roadway has since reopened
DALLAS — At least one person has died after a major crash on the President George Bush Turnpike, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to DPS, the accident happened on the westbound lanes of PGBT near Midway Road.
Officials say the westbound lanes are closed at Dallas North Tollway and drivers were diverted onto the DNT. The north and southbound exit ramps of Dallas North Tollway toward the westbound PGBT were also closed, but have since reopened.
Police have not yet released what led to the accident, nor how many people were involved or injured.
DPS says they will release the name of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
