The NFL tight end is keeping details under wraps about the “big day” with Taylor Swift.
WASHINGTON — NFL star Travis Kelce said he “can’t wait” for his wedding day with Taylor Swift during a new episode of the “New Heights Podcast.”
On Wednesday’s episode, golf star Rory McIlroy mentioned the special day when referencing the annual Masters Champions dinner.
“It’s an incredible night. And Travis you’ll feel this this year whenever you’re sitting at your wedding…It’s surreal. The only thing I can compare it to is your wedding day because its like all this collection of people in the same room,” McIlroy said.
“I can’t wait,” Kelce replied while grinning.
Details about the wedding have been kept under wraps, with no confirmed locations or dates known yet.
Speculation about a possible summer wedding has swirled in recent weeks, with Page Six reporting that the wedding could happen over the July 3 weekend in New York.
Kelce and Swift got engaged last August. The couple announced news of their engagement on Instagram back in August with a series of photos of the proposal in a garden.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift captioned the post.
How did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce meet?
The pop star first went public with her relationship with Kelce in October 2023 when she attended a Kansas City Chiefs game.
According to People, the first interaction between the two happened after Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in July 2023.
Kelce explained on his New Heights podcast that he made a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it and attempted to meet Swift, but her security guard told him she wasn’t meeting anyone at the time.
In a November 2023 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Kelce noted he had some help in connecting with Swift later down the line.
“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner… I had somebody playing Cupid,” he said.
Their relationship was documented in countless shots of Swift celebrating at Chiefs games and fan videos of Kelce dancing along at Swift’s Eras concert tour as it traveled the globe.
