A North Texas family’s trust was betrayed for a year. Now, a 50-year “no parole” sentence ensures the predator responsible can never hurt another child again.
COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — A Denton man will spend the next five decades behind bars after a Collin County jury sentenced him for the continuous sexual abuse of a severely autistic child.
Marty Duwayne Griego, 52, was sentenced to 50 years in prison without the possibility of parole. The sentence follows his conviction on April 22, 2026, for continuous sexual abuse of a disabled individual.
The abuse took place over the course of a year, ending when the victim was 15 years old. According to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, Griego used an ongoing relationship with the child’s family to gain access to her.
The crimes were discovered after Griego assaulted the victim in front of another child, who then reported the incident to authorities. The Plano Police Department launched an investigation into the claims.
Prosecutors used DNA evidence, forensic interviews, and detailed accounts of abuse from the victim who described assaults in Plano, Carrollton and Corpus Christi to secure the conviction.
During the penalty phase of the trial, jurors heard evidence that Griego’s history of abuse extended beyond this case. Testimony revealed he had sexually abused another child and sexually assaulted an adult who came forward after his initial arrest.
Judge Rayburn Nall presided over the trial, where the jury handed down the 50-year term. Under Texas law, this specific sentence carries no eligibility for parole.
“A serial predator who preyed on a severely disabled child will never walk free again,” said Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis. “This 50-year, no-parole sentence delivers the justice our most vulnerable victims deserve.”
