WASHINGTON — More than 2,000 cases of desserts sold at ALDI stores in seven states have been recalled because glass may be inside the containers.
The recall, initiated by Lactalis Canada, Inc. on April 14, impacts 2,869 cases of Specially Selected crème brûlée sold at ALDI stores in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York and Virginia.
The dessert is packaged in a glass jar and the recall says it may “contain foreign objects, specifically glass.”
There are no refund details for customers who purchased the product and may have it in their fridge. It had a best before date of May 9 and is product number 710298-4099100342826, which can be found on the packaging.
The dessert is marked as “out of stock” on ALDI’s website.
The FDA gave the recall a Class II classification April 28, meaning it is “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
The recall did not mention if any injuries were connected to the glass contamination.
