A Pasadena police officer’s patrol vehicle was struck in a multi-car crash during a traffic stop on State Highway 225, injuring three, police report.
PASADENA, Texas — A Pasadena Police Department officer was involved in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday while conducting a traffic stop along State Highway 225, according to police.
The crash happened in the 300 block of State Highway 225 when the officer’s marked patrol vehicle was struck from behind by another driver, police said.
Investigators said the impact caused a chain-reaction crash involving several additional vehicles. In total, four vehicles — including the patrol unit — were involved.
Police said the patrol vehicle sustained significant front and rear damage. All four vehicles were rendered inoperable and had to be towed from the scene.
The officer and two other drivers were taken to local hospitals for medical evaluation, according to the department. A fourth driver declined medical transport at the scene.
The Pasadena Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded and is continuing to investigate the crash.
No additional information about injuries or possible charges has been released.
