Straus Family Creamery has voluntarily recalled several ice cream flavors.
WASHINGTON — A California-based organic ice cream maker has voluntarily recalled several flavors of ice cream in 17 states due to potential metal fragments.
Straus Family Creamery issued the recall on Thursday. The company said it has informed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is working with retailers to remove the potentially affected products from shelves.
No injuries have been reported, the company said in a news release.
The recall affects Straus Family Creamery Organic Super Premium Ice Cream that was on shelves starting May 4. Recalled products include quart and pint sizes in vanilla, strawberry, cookie dough, Dutch chocolate and mint chip flavors, sold in the following states:
- Arizona
- California
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- Florida
- Georgia
- Iowa
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Maryland
- New Jersey
- Oregon
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Texas
- Washington
- Wisconsin
