All eastbound main lanes of the North Loop at McCarty Street were shut down after a heavy truck crash early Wednesday morning, according to Houston TranStar.
HOUSTON — A crash involving a jackknifed 18-wheeler has shut down all eastbound main lanes of the North Loop near McCarty Street early Wednesday morning, according to Houston TranStar.
The crash was reported on the eastbound side of the 610 North Loop at McCarty Street/U.S. 90 Alternate.
The incident was verified by Houston TranStar at 3:52 a.m.
At this point, officials have not released information about injuries or what caused the crash.
Drivers heading through northeast Houston should expect significant delays during the early morning commute and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
Alternate routes include:
- Taking Interstate 10 eastbound through downtown Houston
- Using Loop 610 westbound to connect to other major freeways
- Exiting before McCarty Street and using local frontage roads when possible
- Using U.S. 90 Alternate as an alternate east-west route around the closure area
