Houston police said a hospital employee was stabbed in a parking garage along Fannin on Monday morning.
HOUSTON — Houston police are investigating after a hospital employee was stabbed at a Texas Medical Center Parking garage on Monday morning.
It happened just after 7 a.m. at a parking garage at the intersection of Fannin Street and Dryden Road. The person who was stabbed was taken to a nearby emergency room for treatment. The Houston Police Department is looking into it.
At this point, we don’t have any details of a suspect except that he was wearing a red hoodie. We also don’t know the condition of the person who was stabbed.
Hospital officials said part of the Houston Methodist campus was temporarily locked down due to the incident. They later said there was no threat to the campus.
Here’s a statement released by Houston Methodist:
“An incident occurred early this morning in TMC Garage 1 and is currently under police investigation. A Houston Methodist employee was assaulted and is now being treated at a nearby emergency department.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we temporarily locked down part of our campus to ensure the safety of our staff, patients, and visitors. At this time, there is no indication of an active or imminent threat to our campus. The safety and well-being of our employees, patients, and visitors remains our top priority.”
This is a developing story. We’ll post new information as we get it.
