HCSO: Man shot and killed wife in east Harris County during argument over back pain

According to the sheriff’s office, three children were home at the time.

HOUSTON — Authorities have released new information in what they say was a fatal domestic shooting in east Harris County.

It happened Saturday in the Cloverleaf area. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call along Texarkana Street at around 1 p.m. after a man called 911. According to deputies, the man said he had just shot his wife. When deputies arrived, they detained the man.

Inside the home, deputies found his 39-year-old wife in a bathroom with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide investigators say the man told detectives he shot and killed his wife because he believed she did not take his back pain seriously. The sheriff’s office said he is now charged with murder and remains in the Harris County Jail.

Investigators say three children — ages 3, 8 and 13 — were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not hurt. We reported on Saturday.
