Flights to George Bush Intercontinental were grounded briefly due to a disabled aircraft on the runway, with the FAA noting possible extensions to the delay.
HOUSTON — Flights headed to George Bush Intercontinental Airport were temporarily grounded Tuesday afternoon after a disabled aircraft was reported on a runway, according to an FAA advisory.
The advisory shows the ground stop affecting departures bound for Bush Airport was scheduled from 12:32 p.m. CDT until 1:45 p.m. CDT.
According to the FAA alert, the ground stop was issued because of a “disabled aircraft on the runway.”
The advisory also noted there was a medium probability — between 30% and 60% — that the ground stop could be extended.
At the time of the advisory, the listed arrival rate at Bush Airport was 36 flights per hour.
