Early voting for the May 26 runoff elections begins Monday and runs through Friday, giving registered Bexar County voters the chance to weigh in on contests including the high-profile battle between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton.

Polls are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for the duration of early voting.

Republican runoffs open to Bexar County voters include:

  • U.S. Senate: John Cornyn vs. Ken Paxton
  • Texas Attorney General: Mayes Middleton vs. Chip Roy
  • Texas Railroad Commission: Jim Wright vs. Bo French
  • Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Place 3: Alison Fox vs. Thomas Smith

Democratic runoffs open to Bexar County voters include:

  • Lt. Governor: Vikki Goodwin and Marcos Vélez
  • Attorney General: Nathan Johnson vs. Joe Jaworski
  • Bexar County District Attorney: Jane Davis vs. Luz Elena Chapa
  • Judge, County Court at Law No. 10: Cesar Garcia vs. Shannon Roberta Salmón
  • District Clerk: Gloria A. Martinez vs. Christine “Chris” Castillo
  • County Clerk: Lucy Adame-Clark vs. Cynthia Castro

Republican voters in Texas’ newly redrawn 35th Congressional District also will decide between Carlos De La Cruz and John Lujan, while Democrats in the same district will pick between Maureen Galindo and Johnny Garcia.

Voters who already cast a ballot in the Republican or Democratic primary earlier this year can only vote in that same party’s runoff under state law. Voters who didn’t cast a ballot in March can participate in either party’s runoff.

The last day to register to vote in the runoff has passed.
