Playful dolphins turned an ordinary day on the water into a memorable Gulf Coast moment after they were seen leaping out of the water near a huge ship in Galveston.
GALVESTON, Texas — Dolphins made an acrobatic appearance off Galveston’s east end, delighting boaters and visitors near Pelican Island’s Seawolf Park on Friday.
According to the person who captured the videos, the dolphins were spotted swimming and leaping out of the water in front of and around a huge ship off Pelican Island near the waters at the edge of Seawolf Park, with the U.S. Coast Guard station visible in the background. The playful marine mammals surfaced repeatedly, giving spectators a close-up look as they glide through the air and Gulf waters.
Seawolf Park, located on Pelican Island in Galveston, is known for its fishing piers, waterfront views, and frequent wildlife sightings along Galveston Bay.
