At least 3 people have died and others are unaccounted for, according to Dallas officials.
DALLAS — The Dallas County Democratic Party announced Thursday that one of their own is among those missing in the Oak Cliff apartment explosion.
In a post to social media, the party states that District 23 Precinct Chair, Honorable Sylvia Collins, is missing after an apartment exploded in the 400 block of East 9th Street in Dallas Thursday afternoon.
At least 3 people have died, including a child and others are unaccounted for, according to Dallas officials.
In another post on social media, Senator Royce West said in part “Today’s explosion took lives, destroyed property, injured many, displaced people, and broke our hearts,” going on to say “There are people unaccounted for still. One of those missing is Senate District 23 Precinct Chair, the Honorable Sylvia Collins.”
Collins is said to be an active member of the Democratic party and in her community.
The number of victims still unaccounted for is unclear at this time.
