Police said the suspects were pursuing a man driving away in a car and shot at the car, hitting the pregnant woman.
DALLAS — A 17-year-old and a 20-year-old are in jail after Dallas police say they reportedly shot a pregnant woman in a car, killing her baby.
Officers were called at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday to the 4600 block of Wimbledon Way. Preliminary investigation found the two suspects, 17-year-old Yeremy Zapata Aleman and 20-year-old Keyner Calero Jiron, got into an confrontation with a man at a business.
The two reportedly followed the man to his car, police said. As he drove away, the suspects reportedly shot at his car, hitting a pregnant woman inside, and her baby.
The woman was taken by Dallas-Fire Rescue to a local hospital, police said, where her baby later died.
Both suspects have been charged with capital murder and multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with narcotics and gun charges.
Records show both suspects have been booked into the Dallas County Jail. Zapata Aleman has six bonds totaling $510,000. Bonds for Calero Jiron have not been set yet.
The investigation is still ongoing.
