FORT WORTH, Texas — A Dallas County Sheriff’s Office van taking inmates to the Dallas County Jail got into a crash on Interstate 30 on Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The sheriff’s office said the van was rear-ended on eastbound I-30 and Eastchase Parkway in Fort Worth at about 7:10 a.m.
Five of the inmates were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, DCSO said in a release. Four of those five inmates have since been released and booked into the Dallas County Jail. The fifth inmate remained at the hospital for non-related evaluation of a medical condition, DCSO said.
The Fort Worth Police Department worked the crash and the roadway was cleared at 8:40 a.m.
