DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — British military officials reported Sunday that a bulk carrier near the Strait of Hormuz has been attacked.
The U.K. military’s Maritime Trade Operations center incident report stated that the vessel was attacked roughly 11 nautical miles west of Sirik, Iran.
UKMTO said the bulk carrier was being attacked by “multiple small craft.”
The crew were believed to be safe, and no environmental impact has been reported as of noon Eastern.
UKMTO urged vessels to “transit with caution” and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
The incident is being investigated.
