Traffic is being diverted onto the U.S. 75 service road at Royal Lane.
All southbound lanes at U.S. 75 and Royal Lane are shut down due to a fatal crash, officials say.
The wreck occurred just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday at U.S. 75 and Valleydale Drive. Emergency crews were initially dispatched with a report of at least two vehicles involved and several people pinned.

It is unknown how long the expressway will be shut down. WFAA has reached out to law enforcement but did not immediately hear back.
