A San Antonio man is in police custody over allegations he threatened to blow up a local conference where conservative activist Erika Kirk — the widow of Charlie Kirk — is expected to speak next month.
Police charged Jacob Wenske, 26, with two felony charges of making a terroristic threat causing public fear, TV station TheTXLoop reports.
Police began investigating Wenske after he allegedly replied to an April social media post about Kirk’s planned appearance at Turning Point Women’s Leadership Summit at the Marriott River Center Hotel from June 5-7, according to the station.
“I know exactly where to bomb,” Wenske reportedly wrote on social media.
In another post on the same thread, Wenske wrote, “I can’t wait to be the valet for her escort,” TheTXLoop reports, citing police records.
During the investigation, police also discovered a threatening email Wenske wrote in January and sent to Turning Point USA, according to the station.
“Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!!” Wenske reportedly said in the message. “America will live on without those scum on this earth. Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event.”
Wenske is being held on a $120,000 bond, court records show.
Erika Kirk took over conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA after her husband, the group’s founder, was assassinated in September at a rally at Utah Valley University.
Next month’s Women’s Leadership Conference in San Antonio aims to promote right-wing ideals couched in terms such as “empowerment,” “confidence,” “leadership” and “self-care,” which are frequently used in feminist circles.
“This is for women who are ready to rise fully into the life they were created to lead and who value courage, conviction, and clarity in every season,” the conference’s website states.
