CLEVELAND — Travis Kelce has bought a minority stake in the Cleveland Guardians, Ohio TV station 3News has confirmed with the baseball team.

Curtis Danburg, vice president of communications and community impact for the Guardians, told 3News early Wednesday morning that more details will be released soon.

“I have so much love for this city,” Kelce, a native of nearby Cleveland Heights, told ESPN in their report about his minority ownership.

Kelce, who is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, was just in Cleveland to watch the Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday night alongside his fiancée, Taylor Swift.

Known today for his prowess on the gridiron, Kelce was considered a formidable baseball player while he attended Cleveland Heights High School. In a 2024 episode of his podcast “New Heights,” Travis Kelce revealed to his brother, Jason, that he once considered baseball his “plan B.”
