Man wanted in deadly shooting at barbershop on Richmond Avenue

Houston police are searching for Emilio Fuentes Cuellar, 45. They said he shot and killed another man at a barbershop on Richmond Avenue.

HOUSTON — Houston police are searching for a man who they said shot and killed another man at a westside barbershop on Wednesday morning.

The Houston Police Department announced that Emilio Fuentes Cuellar, 45, is charged with murder and was not in custody as of Thursday afternoon.

According to detectives, Cuellar shot and killed a 38-year-old man at a barbershop on Richmond Avenue near South Gessner Road.

The man’s body was found outside the business around 4:15 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Detective Blake Roberts said the victim was a patron at a barbershop in the strip center.

According to Roberts, an argument broke out inside the barbershop and spilled out into the parking lot. That’s when the shooting happened.

Roberts said multiple people were interviewed at the scene, and investigators were working to gather surveillance video that might help them determine what happened.

HPD officials later said Cuellar was identified as the shooter, but didn’t provide details on how they made that determination.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
