Carrollton police arrest wife of restaurant owner tied to fatal shootings, officials say

According to police, the suspect’s wife was present during the shootings and reportedly helped him with the second murder.

CARROLLTON, Texas — The wife of a Carrollton restaurant owner charged with multiple fatal shootings earlier this month has been arrested herself, officials say, after police reportedly learned she was with her husband during the incidents.

Police further say the 67-year-old woman, Ae Son Han, reportedly helped the suspect, 69-year-old Seung Ho Han, commit the second murder.

Han was found Monday in Minnesota with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, police say, and charged with murder.

Carrollton police are currently working to have Han extradited back to Texas.

The Carrollton Police Department said officers were first dispatched around 9:57 a.m. on May 5 to the 4000 block of State Highway 121 after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting with several victims at Ktowne Plaza, an area known for its Korean-owned businesses.

When officers arrived, they found four victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three victims — two men and one woman — were transported to area hospitals in stable condition, police said.

During the investigation, officers learned of a second shooting around 11:13 a.m. in the 2700 block of Old Denton Road. Responding officers found another deceased adult male inside an apartment. Investigators later determined both shootings were allegedly carried out by the same suspect.

Police identified the suspect as 69-year-old Seung Ho Han. Authorities said Han was taken into custody around 12:12 p.m. after a short foot chase in Carrollton’s Koreatown area near Old Denton Road and President George Bush Turnpike.

According to Carrollton police, detectives interviewed Han after his arrest, and he confessed to shooting all five victims. Investigators said Han told them he was angry over financial disagreements connected to business dealings involving the victims.
