Police say they’re working to find out what happened after they found a man dead outside a southwest Houston apartment complex.
HOUSTON — An investigation is underway after police found a man shot to death outside a southwest Houston apartment complex Wednesday night.
The Houston Police Department said officers were called to the complex, located along Creekbend Drive near Braes Forest Drive, around 10 p.m.
HPD said a caller reported a man lying unresponsive in front of the apartment complex.
“They didn’t know what was wrong with the individual, they didn’t know he was deceased,” said HPD Lt. Willkens.
When officers got to the scene they found that the victim had been shot, potentially multiple times, in the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Willkens said officers did find blood trails at the complex.
“We’re trying to figure out exactly where they’re coming from, where they’re leading to, where this exactly occurred at,” he said. “We don’t know if it was a robbery, we don’t know if he knew who shot him, we’re not sure on any of those things right now. This is very, very fresh.”
Investigators were working to talk to potential witnesses and gather surveillance video in the area.
