Dallas police investigate downtown robbery turned shooting Sunday morning, police say

A robbery turned violent Sunday morning in Downtown Dallas after the victim of the attempted robbery reportedly shot a juvenile assailant, police said.

DALLAS — An attempted robbery in Downtown Dallas turned into a shooting on Sunday morning, police said. 

Officers responded at about 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, to an active shooter on foot call in the 1200 block of Commerce Street, the Dallas Police Department said in a press release. 

Investigators found that a man was robbed by a group of suspects who chased him between two locations in the area, the release states. The victim physically confronted a juvenile suspect, and during the fight, the juvenile was shot, police said. 

The victim was taken to a hospital and has since been released, the release states. The juvenile left the scene but was later found and taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said. 

The incident is under investigation.
