Waco council members confirm Waffle House is coming to the city

Waco officials confirmed Waffle House is finalizing plans for a local location, though the company has not announced a site or opening timeline yet.

WACO, Texas — Waffle House is finalizing the process to opening a location in Waco, city officials confirmed during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

City officials, in a post shared by Councilman Josh Borderud, said the restaurant chain is currently finalizing its process to establish a presence in the city, though no formal announcement has been made regarding the exact site or timeline.

Waffle House has not yet publicly detailed plans for the Waco location.

Borderud described development as a positive step for the city’s continued growth and a massive leap for breakfast lovers like himself.

“This is a great gift,” he said.

The update comes as Borderud prepares to step down from his role representing District 3 on the Waco City Council, a position he has held since 2020.
