FORT WORTH, Texas — A construction worker was rescued from a crane Wednesday evening after suffering a medical emergency in Fort Worth, officials say.
The man was said to be operating a crane over the John Peter Smith Hospital parking garage, which is currently under construction, when he suffered a medical emergency, according to a press release from the Fort Worth Fire Department.
Rescue crews went up the 220-foot crane to check on the worker, fire officials said.
The man was responsive and attempted to go down the crane by himself; however, firefighters convinced him to let them help.
Officials say the crane was then moved to bring the worker to safety. The man was then taken to the hospital to be checked out.
