During Wednesday’s board meeting, Irving ISD named Dr. Dorian Galindo as the lone finalist for Superintendent.
IRVING, Texas — Irving ISD has named Dr. Dorian Galindo as the lone finalist for Superintendent of Schools.
The announcement came at Wednesday’s School Board meeting, following an internal search process led by the Board, ‘focused on ensuring strong leadership and continued progress across the district.’
According to a press release from the district, Dr. Galindo is currently employed as Irving ISD’s Chief of Staff.
“Our Board believes that the Irving Independent School District is heading in the right direction,” says Board President AD Jenkins. “Our Board wants a leader who can continue our path toward becoming the premier district for education excellence, fostering the full potential of students and empowering educators. The best person at this time to lead our extraordinary team of administrators, teachers, and support staff to empower our students today to excel tomorrow is Dr. Galindo.”
Dr. Galindo will now be under a 21-day waiting period before she can officially be named Superintendent per Texas Law.
In March, Irving ISD’s Superintendent Magda A. Hernández announced her retirement after 8 years in the position.
