Ohio governor race county-by-county primary election results

Here’s an interactive map showing May 5 Ohio primary gubernatorial results.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio voters will take the next step to determine who eventually will succeed Mike DeWine as the state’s governor in the May 5 primary election.

DeWine, 79, is term-limited and will step aside after a long career in Ohio politics that also included stints as the state’s attorney general and member of the U.S. House and Senate.

This is a primary election, meaning voters do not choose between all parties in the same race like in a general election. Instead, voters pick from candidates within the same party and the winner advances to the general election in November.

Candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor include:

• Amy Acton and David Pepper (Democratic — running unopposed)

• Don Kissick and James L. Mills (Libertarian)

• Heather Hill and Stuart Moats (Republican)

• Casey Putsch and Kimberly C. Georgeton (Republican)

• Vivek Ramaswamy and Robert A. McColley (Republican)

• Travis Jon Vought and Christy Jo Orr (Libertarian – Write-In)
