David Kendall had dozens of credits on sitcoms like “Boy Meets World,” “iCarly,” “Zoey 101,” “Big Time Rush” and many more.
WASHINGTON — David Kendall, the producer and writer of the hit television show “Boy Meets World,” has died. He was 68.
Original cast members of the show, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle, were the first to announce his death.
The social media account for their podcast “Pod Meets World” posted in tribute to Kendall on Saturday.
“We are devastated to lose such an important person in our lives, both professionally and personally,” the statement read. “We have lost a vital piece of our family – but we ask that the next time you watch the show, especially Seasons 2 & 3 (when he served as Showrunner), you think of our beloved Kendall.”
Kendall was best known for his work on “Boy Meets World,” but he also had writing, directing and producing credits on popular sitcoms like “Growing Pains” and “Hannah Montana.”
The tribute post said he helped “mold some of TV’s most memorable sitcoms.”
His IMDb page shows directing credits on various episodes of “Victorious,” “Big Time Rush,” “iCarly,” “Zoey 101,” “Cory in the House,” “That’s so Raven,” and many more. His directing credits alone combine to nearly four dozen TV shows.
Kendall’s last credit as director was for an episode of “Erin & Aaron” in 2023, according to IMDb. His last credit where he was listed as a producer was for the Netflix’s “Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love” in 2020.
His cause of death is unknown at this time.
“We love you, David. Rest in peace. No notes,” the tribute said.
