Police are investigating the deadly accident, which closed off a section of Weatherford’s Main Street.
WEATHERFORD, Texas — A major collision on Weatherford’s Main Street led to the death of one man and has kept a stretch of the road closed into Friday evening, says the Weatherford Police Department.
Weatherford police also state that the accident involved a City of Weatherford sanitation truck, which collided into a passenger vehicle in the 900 block of North Main Street just after 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. The driver of the vehicle, an unidentified 80-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash is being investigated by Weatherford police along with the Texas Department of Public Safety, says Weatherford police.
North Main Street remains closed as investigators work the area, authorities say. Traffic is being re-routed to North Elm Street as motorists are encouraged to avoid the area. More information will be released as it is made available, says Weatherford police.
