1 person in critical condition after crash involving Fort Worth police car, officials say

One person is in critical condition after they were involved in a collision with a Fort Worth police cruiser, the department said.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A crash involving a Fort Worth police cruiser sent one person to the hospital in critical condition, the department said. 

Around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, two people were involved in a crash in the 6500 block of Camp Bowie Boulevard, according to a statement from the Fort Worth Police Department. 

A black Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound, and a Fort Worth police cruiser was traveling eastbound in the same area, the statement reads. The Chevrolet Malibu attempted to turn left on a flashing yellow when the police car hit the vehicle in the front passenger door, police said. 

The passenger of the Chevrolet was taken by Fort Worth EMS to a hospital and remains in critical condition, officials said.
