HOUSTON — Crews continued to search Lake Houston on Wednesday after a woman fell off a jet ski and didn’t resurface on Tuesday afternoon.

Houston Police Department Captain Kenneth Campbell said there were three people on the jet ski when a 20-year-old woman who was on the back fell off and didn’t come back up to the water’s surface. Police said the other two riders looked for her and called 911.

Investigators said they believe the woman who’s missing wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

It appears to be a “tragic accident,” according to Campbell. Authorities said it’s unclear who owns the jet ski.

Harris County officials said Alexander Deussen Park was closed Wednesday and said it would reopen to the public Thursday.
