Wimberley, Thrall advance to UIL baseball state title games at Dell Diamond

AUSTIN (KXAN)– Wimberley baseball advanced to its initial state national championship in program background with a 2 -0 move of Bridge City in the Class 4 A Division II semifinals Friday.

Bryson Anderson scored the winning run for the Texans after a Bridge City mistake in added innings to secure a 7 – 6 win in Video game 2 of the best-of- 3 collection. Wimberley won the opening video game 4 – 1 Thursday.

The Texans (26 – 7 – 1 will play Longview Spring Hillside (34 – 7 for the 4 A-DII state title at 9 a.m. June 6 at Dell Ruby in Round Rock. Spring Hill swept Brock 7 – 6 and 2 -0 to advance.

Thrall punched its ticket to the 3 A-Division II champion with a 2 – 1 series sway Orange Grove. The Tigers clinched the collection with a 2 – 1 win Saturday at North East Sports Complicated in San Antonio. Thrall won the opening video game 4 – 1, however the Bulldogs evened the series with a 7 – 1 win in Video game 2

Thrall (31 – 6 – 1 will face Wall surface (30 – 6 at 4 p.m. June 5 at Dell Ruby for the state champion. Wall defeated Boyd 2 – 1 in their semifinal series.
