After fans rallied for its return, the popular chicken wrap is finally back on the McDonald’s menu.
WASHINGTON — After nearly a decade off the menu, one of McDonald’s most beloved items is making a comeback. The Snack Wrap was introduced by McDonald’s almost two decades ago to make it easier to eat its chicken on the go. But in 2016, the burger giant abandoned the popular menu item, fully phasing it out of locations across the country by 2020.
Over the years, fans have rallied to bring back the menu item, and now its return is finally here.
When is McDonald’s bringing back the Snack Wrap?
The fan favorite menu item officially returns at McDonald’s locations across the country on Thursday, July 10 at 10:31 a.m. local time.
The company initially made the announcement back in June, with a post to its X account, that said “snack wrap 07.10.2025.”
To celebrate the Snack Wrap’s return, some McDonald’s locations are promoting plans to give away free Snack Wraps to the first 100 customers starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
It is currently unclear whether this is a national offer or just available at participating locations, so you’ll need to check your local McDonald’s for more information.
What’s in a McDonald’s Snack Wrap?
The Snack Wrap at McDonald’s consists of a tortilla full of chicken, lettuce, shredded cheese and sauce.
What flavors will the Snack Wrap come in?
For the U.S. comeback, McDonald’s is offering fewer kinds of Snack Wraps to ensure faster service. It used to have both grilled and fried chicken options, but it’s only offering fried chicken in the U.S. for now. And the relaunched Snack Wraps will only come in two flavors: Ranch or Spicy. The company used to offer additional sauces like honey mustard and sweet chili.
How much will the Snack Wrap cost?
The Snack Wrap will be priced at $2.99 when it hits menus on July 10, McDonald’s Senior Marketing Director Guillaume Huin confirmed in a post on X.
