Water out in Katy neighborhoods for drainage improvement project

The city said water service would be impacted for around 8 hours starting at 9 a.m.

KATY, Texas — Residents in three Katy neighborhoods will be without water for much of today as crews start work on a drainage improvement project, according to the city.

The City of Katy said in a social media post that a third-party contractor will begin work on the project at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Katy Heights, Airline, and Drexel neighborhoods. 

“The work will require a temporary interruption of water service, which is expected to last approximately 8 hours while the contractor performs pipe installation,” the city said.
