A high-profile hearing may decide the future of Texas death row inmate Robert Roberson.
PALESTINE, Texas — A high-profile court hearing is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, potentially determining the future of Texas death row inmate Robert Roberson. The hearing will be streamed live on KHOU 11+.

Roberson was convicted of capital murder in the 2002 death of his 2-year-old daughter, Nikki. At the time, prosecutors said Nikki’s death was caused by shaken baby syndrome, leading to Roberson’s death sentence.
Now, his attorneys argue that the original diagnosis is outdated. They claim that Nikki had pneumonia and that a fall from a bed contributed to her death, not abuse.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a motion asking the judge to set a new execution date for Roberson.
