AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department seeks public help to find a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon incident that happened in downtown Austin on July 27.
The disturbance happened between a group of people and two people in a silver sedan at the intersection of East Fifth and Red River streets around 2:15 a.m., APD said in a news release.
One of the people inside the sedan “discharged a firearm” before the car drove away, and was last seen driving south on Red River Street, police said.
“Multiple pedestrians were involved in the disturbance and fled when the firearm was discharged,” APD said.
Police described the driver of the sedan as a Hispanic woman and the passenger as a Hispanic man with long hair. He was “armed with a handgun.”
