FORT WORTH, Texas — A victim is in critical condition after an altercation at a stoplight led to a shooting, Fort Worth police said.
Officers responded around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, in the 3000 block of Mansfield Highway, the Fort Worth Police Department said in a press release.
When police arrived, officers from Forest Hill were already on the scene and had located one victim in a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound, the release states. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and is not expected to survive, police said.
Investigators found that before the shooting, two separate vehicles were involved in an altercation at the intersection of Mansfield Highway and Seminary Drive, officials said. The vehicles then travelled Westbound on Seminary Drive, where the suspect vehicle shot the victim’s vehicle, hitting the front right passenger, police said.
The victim’s vehicle pulled over, and the suspect sped away, the release states.
The incident remains under investigation and appears to be isolated, officials said.
