Update: Boil water order lifted in Saginaw following water main repairs Friday

Early Friday, Saginaw officials responded to a water main break, causing some residents to experience low water pressure or a temporary loss of water.

SAGINAW, Texas — The City of Saginaw says a boil water order has been lifted following repairs to a 16-inch water main that was damaged by a contractor on Friday.

City officials say water sample tests by the Tarrant County Public Health lab indicated the water had no contamination. Water is now safe for normal use, including drinking, cooking and bathing.

Residents may choose to flush their household plumbing by running faucets for a few minutes and discarding any ice made during the boil water notice period.

Officials say water distribution behind the Saginaw City Hall has ended.

On Friday, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required Saginaw public water system to issue a boil water notice after a water main break caused water pressure to drop.
