AUSTIN (KXAN) – When Texas baseball was set to close out a game, they sure had a lot of faith in their pitcher and catcher combination. The battery both earned NCBWA All-American honors for their efforts in 2025.
Freshman pitcher Dylan Volantis garnered first-team honors while catcher Rylan Galvan found himself on the third team.
Volantis is the lone freshman on the first team. The lanky lefty was outstanding out of the bullpen in his first season in Austin. He saved 12 games to the tune of a 1.94 earned run average.

Galvan, a leader of the team, continued his breakout from the 2024 campaign. The backstop set career highs in average (.296), home runs (15), RBI (47) and stolen bases (9).
Volantis and Galvan helped power the Longhorns to an SEC regular-season championship in their first year in the league.
Even when the Longhorns stumbled in the regional against UTSA, both these All-Americans were impressive. Galvan had four total hits in the two games against the Roadrunners while Volantis tallied 5.2 IP allowing just one run.
