AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Central Texas Community Foundation will announce details Tuesday afternoon on how residents in Travis and Williamson counties can get financial assistance if they were impacted by the July Fourth weekend floods.

After the floods, the foundation established Travis County CARES and WilCo CARES, which are relief funds to support families affected. Tuesday’s event will provide more details on how residents can apply for assistance, how grants will be distributed, and the fundraising progress to date.

The event will feature remarks from Travis County Judge Andy Brown, Williamson County Judge Steven Snell and Executive Director of Central Community Foundation Amy Merida. The press conference will happen at 1 p.m.

According to its website, the Central Texas Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that lets people create charitable funds, which are pooled with others to grow over time. The resulting money would be able to be distributed as grants to local nonprofit organizations.
