Tomball brewpub to close after nearly a decade in business

Fire Ant Brewpub in Tomball will close on May 17, 2026, after eight years. Owners expressed thanked the community as they retire to spend time with family.

TOMBALL, Texas — A longtime Tomball restaurant is preparing to close its doors after nearly a decade of service.

Fire Ant Brewpub announced it will close on the evening of Sunday, May 17, 2026, marking the end of an eight-year run in the community.

In a message shared with customers on social media, owners described the brewpub as “so much more than a business,” calling it their passion, pride and “a second home.”

“The friendships we have built, the memories we have shared, and the community that formed within these walls mean more to us than we could ever put into words,” the owners wrote.

The owners said the decision comes as they prepare to retire and spend more time with family, including their granddaughter.

“As Bruce and I step into retirement, we do so carrying nothing but gratitude,” they said.

They also thanked their staff, calling them “family” and “the heartbeat” of the restaurant.

The owners expressed appreciation to the Tomball community for its support over the years, inviting customers to visit before the final day of service.

“Please come see us between now and our last day… so we can share one more smile, one more conversation, and one more toast together,” the message said.
