A day after the brazen attack, authorities released a photo of the man they believe is responsible for attacking a woman in a Texas Medical Center parking garage.
HOUSTON — Investigators released a surveillance image of a man accused of attacking a medical researcher in the Texas Medical Center.
The image was released a day after the attack at a parking garage at the intersection of Fannin Street and Dryden Road — the Texas Medical Center Garage 1. A KHOU 11 News source said the victim works at Houston Methodist’s Research Institute.

The man attacked the woman just after 7 a.m. while she was sitting in her car. Hospital officials said several employees witnessed the attack and rendered first aid before first responders got to the scene.
Part of the Houston Methodist campus was temporarily locked down due to the incident.
The victim was taken to a nearby emergency room for treatment and was later released. A statement from Houston Methodist revealed that she “is doing well, remains in good spirits, and appreciates the continued thoughts and prayers she has received.”
Initially, investigators only said the suspect, who got away, was wearing a red hoodie. They said they didn’t believe it was a planned attack. The photo they released on Tuesday showed a Black man in a red Houston Rockets hoodie with the hood over his head. He appears to be walking on a METRORail platform. He’s also wearing what appears to be a black backpack. HPD said he’s sought in the stabbing and robbery of the woman on Fannin Street.
According to METRO, the suspect used public transportation, and they were able to track him through video. METRO said it provided surveillance footage to law enforcement officials to help with the investigation, but didn’t release that video publicly.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call the Houston Police Department Major Assaults Division at 713-308-8800.
