Police used something found in the suspect’s ditched clothing to ID him, but he’s still on the run.
HOUSTON, Texas — In surveillance video released Friday from an ATM near Hobby Airport, you see a technician just trying to do his job on May 28, when he’s assaulted and robbed.
The suspect and victim wrestle before a container full of cash is swiped.
Houston police said some of the money was recovered, along with a getaway car, in a neighborhood where other surveillance video was shot.
Officers also found clothing ditched by one of the suspects and were surprised by what they found inside. Bond condition paperwork led to the identity of 23-year-old Seth Body-Coles.
“I’ve been around a long time, but I’ve never seen a suspect leave bond conditions,” said Andy Kahan with Crime-Stoppers of Houston. “Thank you, mister suspect, because maybe, you know, if you hadn’t left your bond conditions, we might not have known who you are.”
Records show Body-Coles allegedly robbed the ATM tech just days after being released on a $20,000 bond for a felon in possession of a firearm charge.
Now, he’s charged with robbery with bodily injury for the ATM incident. He’s still on the run.
Kahan told us Body-Coles previously served time for evading arrest.
Fortunately, the alleged victim was not seriously injured.
Meanwhile, anyone using an ATM is advised to be very aware of your surroundings, especially at night.
