Station 60 responded to the early morning fire on Sunday at the dealership on Westheimer Road near South Gessner Road.
HOUSTON — The Houston Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a weekend fire that destroyed two Teslas at a dealership in southwest Houston.
Houston firefighters from Fire Station 60 responded to the fire around 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 6. They found two Teslas burning in the parking lot of the dealership on Westheimer Road near South Gessner Road.
No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were destroyed.
Arson investigators are handling the investigation.
There have been reports of other Teslas being targeted nationwide after Elon Musk campaigned for President Trump and then cut thousands of federal jobs while leading DOGE. The company’s stock also dropped.
Musk later left DOGE and has been an outspoken critic of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”
It’s not clear if the Westheimer fires are related to the political firestorm surrounding Musk.
