Singers can recognize the tradition of the Mexican American Rondalla, a local music heritage dating back to the 18 th century, by taking part in a master course offered by Our Girl of the Lake University. Over Wednesday night gatherings through the end of June, individuals will develop an ensemble, learn structures selected from the Charles Lummis Collection and provide a recital. The course is led by Robert Ojeda, a significant artist, teacher, historian and staunch advocate for the preservation of Mexican American individual music via performance and community-based education.
