Southbound lanes of I-35E reopen after 3-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler, officials say

One of the vehicles involved in the crash was found wedged underneath the 18-wheeler.

DALLAS — Interstate 35E is back open this morning after a three-vehicle crash shut down four lanes near the Royal Lane exit, officials say. 

Emergency crews responded to the wreck just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the southbound lanes of I-35E, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. 

One of the vehicles involved was found wedged underneath the 18-wheeler, according to WFAA crews on the scene. 

One person was taken to a hospital as a result of the crash, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
